Three paths have led to one mission through Corazones Culinario. Every founder is passionate about providing equitable education in cooking and food-sourcing for a more sustainable community. When we sit together at the table, we share stories, knowledge, and culture.

  • Presidente

Tommy Saldivar is the President and CEO of Corazones Culinarios LLC. He comes from a humble background having been raised in south Texas by his Grandmother Maria and Aunt Minnie. He was taught from a young age that his purpose in life was to give back and be courteous to others. His grandmother showed him how to be a gentleman and a beast in the kitchen. He is a loving husband and father of two beautiful girls in Austin, Texas. Having more than 20 yrs experience in the restaurant/service industry, he realized that making people happy through food was his passion. Through his desire to educate and teach individuals who also come from underprivileged communities how food is sourced and how to cook led to the creation of Corazones Culinario was. Together with his partners, they strive to reach as many people as possible and work hard to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

“I’d love to say I have a true passion for food, but in reality it’s a passion for eating. I love to eat and I love simple foods that make your heart smile! I come from a big family and food is how we showed our love for each other. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, a truly weird culinary capital. I have a lovely wife and daughter who I share my passion with. I love my family and have about what I cook for them. I think it’s important that people understand where their food is coming from and who prepares it. I graduated from Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in 2014. Since then my life as a chef has led me to a vision of creating an opportunity for anyone to understand this necessity of life—food! I feel Corazones Culinario defines my being. Wjem it comes to our missions, I feel a need to share the passion and love with everyone we can.”

  • Vice President

Gardening has been a way of life for my family for generations. I was never formally educated about the benfits of harvesting and cooking our meals, but I learned through experience. From a small age, I eagerly met me mom in the kitchen to taste-test her meals to ensure it tasted just like grandma’s. While I wasn’t as eager to maintain the garden, I understood why it was necessary. The generational education in self-sustaining gardening and cooking I have received , in addition to my academic experience on social issues, have fueled my desire to provide more equitable solutions to the nutrient-deficient problem in our society. I believe there is a simplicity to cooking and food-sourcing that is often overlooked and Corazones Culinario can fulfill that need. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and passion with others in hopes to create a healthier and more sustainable community.
